Our Mission
FoodWeb bridges food recovery organizations with communities in need. Founded by high school students in the Lower Hudson Valley, our mission is to provide dignified access to fresh, healthy produce through outdoor farmers markets. By reducing food waste and nourishing our neighbors, we aim to unite students and local organizations in a shared effort to ensure fresh food access for all.

The Hard Truth About Food Insecurity — at our local level:
Food insecurity is a significant issue in some areas of the Bronx and lower Westchester County, New York — both regions in which we are committed to serving. Severe economic disparity, high poverty rates, and limited access to affordable nutritious foods can be most effectively alleviated by community-level initiatives and local collaboration.

A Web Of Support
Where fresh, nutritious produce is often out of reach for those in need — we strive to recover surplus, high-quality foods to nourish our neighbors and create a positive impact in the communities we serve.
Web of Partnership
FoodWeb connects with local food recovery organizations, farmers, and community partners to bridge the gap between surplus produce and communities in need. By collaborating with these key players, we create a network that facilitates the redistribution of fresh, high-quality food.
Gathering & Delivering Surplus
We partner with organizations like Sharing Excess to rescue surplus fruits and vegetables from places like Hunts Point Market. This fresh produce is then transported directly to local food pantries and outdoor farmers markets, ensuring it reaches the communities that need it most.
Nourishing Our Communities
Through our outdoor farmers markets, we provide a dignified, enjoyable shopping experience for families, offering them access to fresh, nutritious foods. Our efforts reduce food waste while promoting health and well-being, helping to build stronger, more connected communities.
